Hello All! Well what a wonderful week it has been, I have been feeling like our area was just a time bomb waiting to explode (in a good way) with so many investigators so close to progression and...this week it happened at last with a lot of diligent work and much prayer it's Happening, we have two investigators committed to baptism...and we are beginning to teach the family's  of investigators(wives and children that were previously not participating), members are joining in on Half of our lessons at this point...It has been wonderful and Exciting! Oh also what happens when...it's 9:00 at City Park and you see someone that the spirit says go and talk to...but need to get home for curfew...we'll send a member of course! Sister H and her Children just happened to be at the park...right before we were about to leave and her son (11) comes running up to us before we leave...I asked her if she would go and talk to...

Dearest All The two big highlights from the week Civil Dealings - I was so pleased with the excitement from the ward when they learned of our booth up at the Roanoke Star, the bishop was especially excited and asked the ward to volunteer time to come and join us at the star, which 10 families signed up for various times to join us in sharing the Christmas Spirit with their fellow citizens of Roanoke. At the beginning of the week we received permission from the Roanoke City Parks and Recreation Department to set up at the star...then a couple days later we received another phone call, informing us that we could not do that and proselyting in the parks was against the city's rules and ordinances. Confused I, thought that was strange and seemed a little off-color and limiting of the freedom of religion, so I took some time to read up on the freedom of religion in the public square on LDS.org and Mormon Newsroom. So Short week to report on, after three days of working with the city and the water restored we resumed our normal schedule  on Thursday . Although it was a double whammy  on Wednesday  night when literally right after we finished emailing last Wednesday the Power went out city-wide...this was the first time I think I have every experienced a complete blackout in the true sense of the word, it was on top of still not having drinking water for most.       The city rushed to get every vehicle they had to intersections to light them with their headlights, but it was totally dark with out them. Below is a photo I took on our way home of one of the main streets that is normally bright as day with lights, but there wasn't a light on in the city...on the bright side the stars were incredible that night.
